I was
born in 1947 and brought up in Lancashire but have lived in Scotland
for the past 32
years.
I excelled
at art at school and won my first award in1962. After leaving
school, life took over and I didn’t pick up a paintbrush
until 2000 after having to take early retirement from the Royal
Bank of Scotland. My daughter gave me a set of watercolours for
Christmas and I have been passionate about my art ever since.
I have
been tutored by Greer Ralston who has inspired and guided me
to where I am today.
I paint
mostly in watercolours and pastel but have recently discovered
the joys of painting in oils.
I have
exhibited in Stirling, Alloa, Bridge of Allan, Culross and Saline.
My paintings
hang in private collections in Aberdeen, Inverness, Merseyside,
Yorkshire, Central Scotland and one in Dubai.
More examples
of my work can be viewed on my website www.valkenyon.co.uk.
